Advocacy

We advocate for civil rights work that is inclusive of all Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. Our current policy portfolio consists of five main areas: Immigration, Education, Racial Equity and Inclusion, Civic Engagement, and Census.

PickItUp Chinatown

As part of our commitment to beautify our community, we organize monthly clean ups on the second Sundays of every month in Oakland Chinatown.

 
 
 

Frank Kiang Scholarship for High School Students

Every year, OCA-East Bay partners with the Port of Oakland’s Asian Employees Association to offer a $4,000 scholarship to a high school student in Oakland.

 

Mentoring Asian American Professionals (MAAP)

The MAAP program aims to cultivate the next generation of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) professional leaders through mentoring, skills building, and networking.
