jessica ayden li, president

Jessica is a social justice activist, certified diversity coach, and non-profit consultant who has worked for almost 15 years in the social sector. Her background is in working to end gender-based violence, creating long-lasting social impact and working with communities of color.

Jessica previously served as the Executive Director of several non-profits including San Francisco SafeHouse, and the Asian/Pacific Islander Domestic Violence Resource Project. She’s also worked with the International Rescue Committee and the United Nations. She currently runs her own consulting firm in Oakland. You can learn more about her work at www.jessayden.com.

michael moon, TREASURER

Michael is the Co-Founder and General Manager of Prime Image Media Group LLC, the leading Asian media, event and marketing, representation company in Northern California. Prior to Prime Image Media Group, he was the Associate Director of Business Development at KTSF TV 26 in San Francisco, KPIX TV 5 CBS New Media Development, and KYLD Wild 94.9 field promotion and production. He’s helped some of his clients, H&L Partners, Cedar Fair Amusement Parks, Pepsi, Xoom.com, U.S. Trading, and AIG with creating new sales driven program content, events, and promotions. brian li, board member

Brian is born in Hong Kong and raised in Alameda. He’s in an alumna of Lincoln Middle School (‘01), Alameda High School (‘05’), and Alameda Community College (‘08). He graduated with a degree in Sociology and a minor in Justice Studies from San Jose State University (‘11), where he led a city-wide measure to raise the minimum wage in San Jose to $10 an hour back in 2012. Brian was a fellow with Public Allies in Silicon Valley and graduated in 2019. His interests include immigration reform, community organizing, and event planning. Brian also serves as the coordinator for OCA’s PickitUp Chinatown. When he is off work and not volunteering in the community, Brian enjoys trying new food places and being out in nature.

Michael Lok, PUBLIC AFFAIRS CHAIR

Michael is currently the Planning Associate at Asian Health Services. He has been active in the Oakland Chinatown community since he was in high school volunteering at Asian Health Services. Additionally, Michael was past President of OCA-East Bay and first became involved with OCA when he interned in Washington, D.C. Since then, Michael has worked as a Research Associate for the National Council on Crime and Delinquency (NCCD) where he researched alternatives to incarceration and co-launched The Spot Youth Center in downtown/Chinatown Oakland. He has also coordinated the Asian Pacific American Student Success (APASS) Program at Laney College, which is dedicated to helping API students reach their academic goals. As Planning Associate at Asian Health Services, Michael supports AHS’ strategic coalition-work including outreach, policy and advocacy projects involving the Oakland Chinatown Coalition and the California Healthy Nail Salon Collaborative.

May Moon, Board member

May is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Prime Image Media Group LLC and has lead the organization for the past 10 years, creating the leading Asian outdoor event and field marketing company in Northern California. May has a proven record of working with cities on developing events such as SF Pride, SJ Jazz Festival, Pista Sa Nayon, SF Moon Festival, Pistahan, Kababayan Festival, Asian Family Heritage Celebration, Fiesta Filipina, and many others. Moria Wong, social media chair

Moria joined OCA-East Bay’s board in 2017, bringing the enthusiasm for volunteerism and grassroots organizing experience to her role. Previously, Moria contributed to survey designs and social media content for organizations that promote social welfare and health education.

As a first-generation college student and immigrant, she has received great advice from mentors from all walks of life. In return, she shares her knowledge while continuing to champion first-generation college students as a graduate student at Cal State-East Bay. When the weather is good, you can find Moria paddling around the SF Bay Area.
